The Workers' Compensation Program is a state administered program that covers payments for work-related injuries. Physician assistant scope of practice, supervision requirements, reimbursement rates, and other conditions of participation in the Workers' Compensation Program vary by state and, in some cases, depend upon the Workers' Compensation insurance policy. The state may act as the “insurance entity”, or that function may be contracted to private insurers.
