2019 CME Conference for Advanced

April 5, 2019 - April 6, 2019

Do you need CME, but don’t have the time to do a full weekend conference?

The Texas Gulf Coast PA Association has the perfect solution. Please join us for a two-day CME Conference for Advanced Practice Providers on April 5 & 6, 2019, at the Marriott West Loop Conference Center in the Houston Galleria area.

The 2019 conference will focus on NCCPA blue print topics by renowned local PAs and physicians. The greater Houston area has been hit very hard by recent events of flooding as well as the horrible event of the Sante Fe school shooting. These events have raised many questions about the APP involvement in disaster relief. Frank Caruso, PA-C from North Carolina will deliver our Keynote address and speak on this topic. In the state of North Carolina, PA Caruso is presently one of the directors of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA). Nationally, he is the Director of the Disaster Association of PAs which is sponsored by the American Academy of PAs. PA Caruso is a recognized local, state, and national speaker on numerous disaster medicine topics including disaster preparedness, mass causality events and incident command. He has conducted mock mass casualty events around the state, including at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

TGCPAA is also honored to have Dawn Morton-Rias Ed.D, PA-C, President and CEO of NCCPA. She will be speaking on the new NCCPA recertification pilot program and the updated NCCPA PANRE blueprint. We are delighted to have PA Morton-Rias speak on this very important topic and hope this provides registrants with a better understanding of the new PANRE vision.

Opportunities for hands-on workshops in imaging review, EKG review, suture skills, & more will also be available. This year TGCPAA will also introduce a poster presentation and a call for abstracts will be coming soon.

PA students and Pre-PA students will have the opportunity to join the general sessions, but also included in registration will be both a PRE-PA and Student Track. The PRE-PA track will feature lectures specific to getting into PA school as well as an Q & A with practicing PAs. PA Students will have lectures ranging from an EKG review, surviving your ER rotation, resume writing, and a hands on suture workshop.

Breakfast & Lunch product theaters will be available, and to close out the 2019 conference, there will be a TGCPAA reception to celebrate 34 years of TGCPAA. Parking is included in your registration.

The Texas Gulf Coast PA Association is excited to continue our mission of providing CME to PAs and other APPs. Members, non-members, and students are all welcome and we look forward to another successful CME conference.

Please note: Your conference registration includes your parking as well as options for breakfast & lunch on both Friday and

Saturday. In addition, your conference registration will provide you with a ticket to the 34th anniversary reception for TGCPAA. (pending registration numbers.)
