Education & CME

How many CME credits can I potentially earn at this meeting?

You can earn more than 35 AAPA Category 1 CME credits in five days, depending on which sessions you attend.

As with all CME, conference CME credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis. Sessions are generally scheduled for 60 minutes which equals one credit.

What are Fast Fifteen Sessions?

Fast Fifteen Sessions are 15 minutes of content followed by 15 minutes of Q&A on specific topics. New during AAPA 2018, the content is varied and focused on recent guideline changes with facilitators offering bottom line, must-know clinical details. These sessions are included in your conference registration.

What are Small Interactive Sessions (SIS)?

SIS are case-based, CME sessions which are limited to 50 people, to allow for discussion and interaction between the faculty and the attendees. These sessions cover a variety of topics and are available throughout the conference. They require a ticket which can be purchased for an additional $25 fee, which is donated to the PA Foundation.

Are there any hands-on workshops available? How do I sign up for them?

Workshops at AAPA 2022 aim to provide in-depth practical instruction to enhance your clinical skills, from reading EKGs and knot tying to using bedside ultrasound. Purchase your tickets during the conference registration process. These sessions will be available for additional purchase starting in November 2021. The cost is based on the materials required for the session.

What if I can’t attend but still want to earn CME credit?

AAPA Conference on Demand gives you online access to sessions recorded at AAPA 2022 and is available for purchase through Learning Central. The full list of sessions to be captured in Indianapolis will not be available until July 2022 as it is dependent on individual speakers giving permission for capture. The content is the presentation slides synchronized with the audio of the speaker’s voice. You must complete an evaluation at the conclusion of the presentation to be able to claim credit and receive your certificate.

The hotel block registration discount is available for all registrants, even if they
are sharing a room with another attendee. The $200 discount can be applied for up to four people sharing one room.

Here are the steps to receive the discount for all individuals who are sharing a room:

COVID-19 Safety Protocol

Why is AAPA requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the start of AAPA 2022 in Indianapolis in order to attend?

AAPA is committed to making this in-person meeting as safe as possible for all participants including our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, vendors, staff, and speakers.

How do I verify that I am vaccinated against COVID-19?

After you finish registering, find the link to the COVID-19 Safety Portal located in your Registration Dashboard or Confirmation Email. Sign up using the same email address you registered with, and you’ll be prompted to upload a copy of your vaccination card. Our partner ShareMy.Health will verify your card is legitimate and will notify you via email when it has been accepted and you have been cleared to attend.

What is the COVID-19 Safety Portal?

This is the portal through ShareMy.Health that we are using to allow attendees to securely upload copies of either their COVID-19 Vaccination card OR the results of a negative COVID-19 test.

Who is ShareMy.Health?

ShareMy.Health is a company that partners with organizations like AAPA to assist with the management and execution of safe conferences. They host a secure platform for our attendees to upload copies of COVID-19 vaccination cards or proof of negative COVID-19 tests. ShareMy.Health will also assist with the verification of these documents, as well as assist AAPA with verifying this information on site.

How do I verify that I have a negative COVID-19 test?

If you are not vaccinated against COVID-19, and do not plan to be in time for AAPA 2022, we ask that within 72 hours of the conference start time (Saturday, May 21 at 8 a.m. CDT), you must upload a photo of the negative results of a COVID-19 test including your name. This test must be administered by a third-party.

Do I have to have a booster to be considered fully vaccinated?

At this time, we are not requiring boosters. However, we strongly encourage booster shots for extra protection.

Can I take an at home COVID-19 test and provide a negative test result that way?

No. Unfortunately, we will not accept the results of at-home, self-administered rapid antigen tests.

Can I wait until I arrive in Indianapolis to take a COVID-19 test?

You may. However, you will need to locate a testing site on your own and provide us the results within the 72-hour window.

Will you be providing COVID-19 testing on site at the conference?

No. We will not be providing COVID-19 testing at the conference. For your own peace of mind, please consider taking a COVID-19 test before you depart for Indianapolis.

How will you know I provided verification when I arrive on-site in Indianapolis to get my badge?

Once your vaccination card or negative test results have been verified by ShareMy.Health, you will be notified via email. At that point, you can log back into the COVID-19 Safety Portal and gain access to your “Passport.” This includes your name, a green check and a QR code. This will allow you to enter the conference facility and get your conference badge. Once you have received your conference badge, you will not need to re-verify your vaccination or test status.
