Definition: An enduring material is a print or Web-based activity that does not have a specific time or location designated for participation. Rather, the participant determines when and where to complete the activity. Typically there is no real-time access to faculty or content developers during the activity.
- Enduring Monograph – Printed CME activities include books, journal articles, journal supplements, and monographs. Approved journal articles carry 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credit regardless of length or complexity.
- Enduring Online – Web-based CME activities include online interactive educational modules, recorded presentations, and podcasts. (For faculty-led webinars at a scheduled date/time, please see the Live Program request type.)
Accreditation Period: Enduring materials are approved for one year beginning from the activity start date stated in your application. In order to extend the length of approval, providers need to reapply before their current AAPA approval expires and ensure any new scientific developments are incorporated into the activity.

Eligibility Criteria
- The activity must comply with AAPA CME Criteria. (PDF)
- If seeking approval for a journal article, the article must address three or more learning objectives, be at least 3000 words in length, and include at least eight evaluation questions.
- In the case of an activity that has not yet taken place (live to enduring) accreditation applications may use the speakers slides for the mandatory content review, in place of the recordings (which do not yet exist).
