The AAPA Individual Excellence Awards 2019 are all about recognizing you for the awesome things you’re already doing. APPLY NOW

Letter of Recommendation
You’ll need to secure your letter of recommendation right away. When thinking about whom you should ask, pick someone who knows you and your accomplishments well. This can be a colleague, a mentor, or a supervisor that you have a professional relationship with.

Make sure to ask them as soon as possible so they have plenty of time to write the letter. Request that they include information about your service, leadership qualities, or your positive impact on others. Have them type it up in a Word document and send it to you so that you can upload the letter with the rest of your application. You can even submit two letters if you would like.

Short-Answer Questions
After you get your recommendation squared away, take a stab at the short-answer questions. All Individual Excellence Awards require you to answer two questions about your professional and volunteer achievements. The Preceptor of the Year Award requires an additional question about your experience with PA student education.

Complete all your answers in a single Word document and upload it with your application materials.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Your CV is an important part of the application because it outlines all your experience and accomplishments. Ensure that it is up-to-date and detailed so we can learn all about the awesome things you’ve done. It’s also important to include any previous recognitions and service experience.

Additional Documents
Do you have anything else that might enhance your application? Maybe you received a thank you note from a patient or peer that you helped, or your local paper published an article about something you did in the community. You can provide up to two additional documents, but they must be fewer than four pages in total.

Once you’ve gathered all your materials, the application should only take you a few minutes to complete.
