AAPA Board of Directors General Election Results Are In!
AAPA members voted to fill four open Board of Directors General positions with leadership terms starting July 1, 2024

The results of AAPA’s Board of Directors election are in, following a two-week voting period that closed on Monday, June 3. The AAPA Board of Directors (BOD) is the governing body responsible for providing direction, oversight, and strategic guidance regarding the business and financial affairs of AAPA. During the 2024 election cycle, AAPA members selected a new president-elect, secretary-treasurer, and filled two director-at-large positions for the coming leadership term, which begins on July 1, 2024. At the start of the new leadership term, Jason Prevelige, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, DFAAPA will become President of AAPA.

Below are the PAs who have been elected to help lead the profession.
Todd Pickard, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, FASCO will become President-elect. The President-elect is an officer of AAPA and serves a three-year term which follows the trajectory of one year as President-elect, one year as President, and a final year as Immediate Past President. Among his many responsibilities as President-elect, PA Pickard, will assist AAPA’s current President, as needed, in the execution of the President’s duties, provide consultation to the President in the appointment of BOD committee, work group or task force members and chairs and AAPA commissions, work group, task force members and chairs, and prepare to assume the role of President in July of 2025.
Kris Pyles-Sweet, DMSc, PA-C will become Secretary-Treasurer. The secretary-treasurer is an officer of AAPA who ensures that actions of the BOD and HOD are documented. They are responsible for overseeing accurate accounts of AAPA’s properties and funds, including cash, outstanding advances, investments, accounts receivable and other assets, accounts payable, and fund balances [net assets].

Directors-at-large are fiduciaries of AAPA. They participate fully in all work of the BOD and contribute constructively to its deliberations. Directors will serve as liaisons to a commission or work group assigned by the president, represent the BOD to constituent and external organizations, and serve as public ambassadors on behalf of AAPA. Directors-at-large serve two-year leadership terms.
