American Academy of PAs Announces 2024-25 Board of Directors

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (July 1, 2024) – The American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) Board of Directors began its 2024-25 leadership year on July 1. Jason Prevelige, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, DFAAPA, will lead AAPA as President and Chair of the Board of Directors.

Prevelige has held progressive leadership roles on AAPA’s Board of Directors, in the House of Delegates, on various commissions, and within the Connecticut Academy of Physician Associates (ConnAPA). Most recently, Prevelige served as AAPA’s 2023 president-elect and as ConnAPA’s president, director-at-large, and chair of the Legislative Committee from 2018 to 2023.

Over the last 15 years, Prevelige has served in different pediatric specialties at Connecticut Children’s of Hartford, Connecticut. In addition, he serves as the Associate Advanced Practice Provider Leader in the Emergency Department at Trinity Health of New England’s Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut.

“The years I have spent serving our profession in various roles have taught me that truly taking care of our patients requires commitment inside and outside of the clinical setting,” Prevelige said. “As the next president of AAPA, I take very seriously the responsibility I have to my fellow Board members and all PAs to carry on the work we are doing to modernize PA practice laws and strengthen the capacity and diversity of our profession. Our passion for improving the lives of patients motivates everything AAPA does as we work toward a future of more accessible, high-quality care for all.”

Prevelige’s commitment to emergency care extends beyond his clinical and educational roles. He serves his community as chief of the Stratfield Volunteer Fire Department.
