PA Licensure Compact Update: Arkansas Becomes 14th State to Enter PA Compact

March 19, 2025

Arkansas has officially adopted the PA Licensure Compact model legislation following the signing of S.B. 101 on March 18, bringing the total of states in the PA Licensure Compact to fourteen.

Delaware, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Nebraska, Virginia, Oklahoma, Maine, Colorado, Tennessee, Minnesota, and Ohio previously adopted the PA Compact model legislation.

The compact is now in the process of being operationalized, which typically takes from 18 to 24 months from the start of a compact activation. Once operationalized, eligible PAs can complete a single application to receive a compact privilege (which is equivalent to a license) from each compact state in which they intend to practice.
