AAPA to Enhance Continuing Medical Education Criteria

Today, the American Academy of PAs announced modifications to its Continuing Medical Education criteria. These changes will align AAPA’s criteria with those of the Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education and its emphasis on delivering continuing education planned by the healthcare team and for the healthcare team.

American Academy of PAs Welcomes Jonathan Sobel as President and Chair

On July 1, Jonathan E. Sobel, PA-C, MBA, DFAAPA, FAPACVS, assumed leadership of the American Academy of PAs. As President and Chair of the Board of Directors, Sobel will lead the national professional organization which represents more than 123,000 PAs in the United States.

PAs Vote to Investigate Changing Their Professional Title

At the annual conference of the American Academy of PAs (AAPA), members of its House of Delegates voted to investigate the feasibility of changing the PA (physician assistant) title, along with potential alternatives that better reflect modern PA practice.
